Mark DeMaio is a Remo HealthRhythms Trained Facilitator with over two decades experience in world percussion and modern drumming. He has toured much of the United States as percussionist for Ibex Puppetry and doing musical storytelling with 3rd Wheel dot Org. He has studied with Thobos Lumbamba, Kalungi Baker, Mamady Keita, Martin Greywolf Murphy, Rion Smith, and others. He acted as drum facilitator for PURE (Public Urban Ritual Experiment) for many years and was also co-founder of the Flammable Babylon Percussion Ensemble. He's has played for numerous bands including Red Shift Mantra, Chasing Jonah, Tangent, Leo Aether, and Ka Malinalli. He is currently owner/operator/educator of a local non-profit educational company called Caravan Learning. Mark's blend of educational experience and drum chops will have you exploring new rhythmic dimensions of your own nature within any workshop, lesson, or class.
